What to Expect

Day 1 — 9/69 am - 6 pm

Day 1: Understanding Lighting Fundamentals

The day begins with a discussion using real-world examples to explore key lighting principles and how they influence images. Participants will examine different light sources—natural and artificial—and learn how to use them effectively in various settings.

We’ll cover the qualities of light (soft, harsh, diffused) and how each affects mood and subject appearance. Practical demos will show how light direction and intensity can transform a scene.

The session also introduces essential studio gear—light stands, clamps, reflectors, diffusers, and more. Participants will get hands-on practice adjusting and positioning equipment to control light.

By the end of Day 1, attendees will have a strong foundation in lighting theory and practical skills, ready to apply and refine their techniques throughout the workshop.

Day 2 — 9/79 am - 5 pm

Day 2: Hands-On Lighting Practice and Advanced Techniques

Day 2 focuses on applying lighting skills through live demos and hands-on practice with professional gear like strobes, continuous lights, reflectors, and modifiers. Participants will explore how different setups affect mood, texture, and composition.

After demonstrations, attendees will experiment with lighting configurations, adjusting equipment and positioning subjects to see how each change impacts the image. Instructors will offer personalized feedback and troubleshooting support throughout.

Group discussions and Q&A sessions will deepen understanding and encourage knowledge sharing. By day’s end, participants will have practical experience and a stronger command of using light to shape powerful, well-composed photographs.
